Inspired in part by Cormac McCarthy's novel 'The Road' which deals with survival in a post-apocalyptic America, these prints were made from the pages of a 1978 LL Bean catalog. That most equipment appears in pairs suggests the danger in surviving alone and alludes to the heteronormative ideal that dominated the companies marketing at the time (and arguably still does).
