An experimental take on the documentary style which makes use of primary sources and archival photographs. What begins as a piece about the past transposes into a piece about the present. The video was made in response to a sound composition by Judith Shatin. Shatin based her sound work on text written by Frank Wilkeson about the American Civil War but it is impossible not to hear his words speak to the banal horror of all wars, particularly the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
