A dark maze constructed as a room within a room, the experience of which is meant to evoke the disorientation of underground tunnels. Viewers enter one at a time into a pitch black labyrinth, finding their way by touch and sound to a tiny room where, lit by a single flashlight, an altered carbon monoxide detector trills like a canary. The journey to the center of the structure feels much longer than the modest dimensions of its construction would suggest. Meant as a companion piece to the video black damp
